** Warning!!! Spoiler Alert!!! ** I summarize the ending of the book and if you want to read it, don't read this blog.
I have finally finished my outside reading book for second quarter! Stormy Weather was a great book by Carl Hiaasen. Max Lamb is furious that his wife didn't come back to New York with him and flies back down to bring her back. Bonnie is with Augustine and Skink at a secret campsite hidden deep in the Everglades. The campsite is Skinks home and also the place where the three characters are keeping Edie Marsh and Snapper. They were able to capture the two villains after they talked to a prostitute who was going to be with Snapper for the night. The gang arrives a few minutes late to find Officer Jim Tile laying in the parking lot with a bullet in his chest. He is barely conscious and tells them where Snapper ran off to. Snapper is easily caught along with Edie. The two were blindfolded and brought back to the campsite. When Max is finally able to locate Bonnie he gives her an ultimatum- come with him or stay and get a divorce. Bonnie doesn't know what to do and decides to stay. Augustine, Bonnie, and Skink decide it would be best to just let Snapper go and see if he can make it out of the swamps himself. Max heads back for New York and when he gets back to his car, Bonnie is waiting. He offers her a ride and they head back to Miami to drop off the car. Jim Tile survives the gun shot wound and stays with the Highway Patrol. Max starts a new advertising campaign for Ol' Faithful Root Beer and has major success. He and Edie Marsh fall in love and get engaged, While Augustine and Bonnie move to a remote part of Florida to start a life together. Snapper's remains were found in the Everglades about a year later. Skink keeps roaming the swamps and forests, waiting for the next big storm. Most of the animals from Augustine's farm were recaptured or killed, except for a bundle of birds and snakes, a cougar, and the pack of monkeys.
I really enjoyed Stormy Weather by Carl Hiaasen. As I predicted, all of the main characters came together in the end and all were part of the climax of the book. I like how Hiaasen wrapped up the story by having Augustine and Bonnie be together along with finding a new woman for Max to have so his life after the story sounds happy. I am going to keep reading Hiaasen's books until there are no more to read. But for my next book, I'm going to go with The Third Option by Vince Flynn.

Q2, P16. Stormy Weather #4
I am almost done with my outside reading book for the second quarter. I have been reading Stormy Weather by Carl Hiaasen and it has been a very good book. Right now, Max Lamb is still in New York, trying to convince the Bronco Tobacco Company owner to continue producing the cigarettes in his factory. This is the biggest event in Max's career at his add agency but unfortunately he can't stop thinking about Bonnie and what she is doing in Florida. Bonnie, Skink, and Augustine are teaming up with Officer Jim Tile to help him find Snapper. Tile wants to locate Snapper because he brutally beat up Jim's police partner and girlfriend, leaving her in critical condition in the hospital. Snapper and Edie are still at the Torres' house waiting for the insurance company to arrive and scam them out of the hurricane money. When the inspector arrives at the house, the two criminals manage to act like a couple and come up big. They get over $100,000 for all the damages and losses to the house and think they are gonna be rich.
I am almost done with Stormy Weather and I have thoroughly enjoyed the book. I don't like Snapper and I really hope that he dies or goes to jail (again). He deserves to be punished for assaulting a woman police officer and nearly killing her. I also am not a big fan of Max Lamb and I think that he is not the right man for Bonnie. On the other hand, I feel bad for Max because he is too worried about his job and doesn't realize he is losing Bonnie. I am predicting that the book is going to end with an event that deals with all of the characters and brings them together to resolve all of their own individual problems. I can't wait to finish up my book and find out how Hiaasen will tie things together.
