Limerick -- Man From New York

There once was a man in New York

Who believed his mom was a dork

She wore lame attire,

Was often a lair

and had a collection of forks

In my opinion, I think this limerick is very well done. The theme is love. He talks about how he and his mom joke around and love each other a lot. Three poetic elements I found while reading this limerick were imagery, rhymes, and assonance. It could have been a little longer, but overall it was a great limerick.

The theme of this poem is to respect your parents for who they are and the theme is kind of a lesson to show that no matter who you are then you should be respected. This poem uses rhyme and some assonance such as "dork" and "forks." Also the poem has fantastic rhythm.
